Nothing gets deleted. Ever.

In Bedspace Manager, invoices and transactions are voided — not deleted. Voiding removes something from all financial calculations while keeping the permanent record intact. Your audit trail is always complete.

Void, Not Delete

How voiding works for invoices and transactions

Voiding Invoices

When

An invoiced charge that was issued in error, duplicated, or no longer applies.

What voiding does

Void the invoice. It exits all financial calculations — income totals, outstanding receivables, reports — but remains visible with a 'Voided' status.

What stays in the audit trail

The original invoice record, its amount, its date, the tenant it was linked to, and a timestamp of when it was voided.

Voiding Transactions

When

A payment entry that was logged incorrectly — wrong amount, wrong invoice, or entered by mistake.

What voiding does

Void the transaction. It is excluded from financial totals and reconciliation reports but stays in the transaction history.

What stays in the audit trail

The original transaction record, the amount, the payment method, the date, and a timestamp of when it was voided.

vs Spreadsheets

Why delete-and-overwrite is a financial liability

Spreadsheet

Bedspace Manager

Delete a row — the original charge is gone forever

Void — the original record stays, only excluded from calculations

Edit a cell — no record of what the original value was

Adjustment entry — original amount preserved, change tracked separately

Undo is your only safety net — and it expires

Permanent audit trail — every void is timestamped and irreversible

Reconciliation requires trusting every cell

Reconciliation is reliable — voided items are clearly labelled and excluded

Finance-grade records. Mobile-first ease.
